Bat For Lashes shares a cover of DJ Baauer's "Home"
London-based multi-disciplinary artist Natasha Khan, aka Bat For Lashes, has shared "Home' – a surprise cover of the dance track by American producer and DJ Baauer as remixed by Special Request.
The re-imagining is the third single from her upcoming sixth studio album, The Dream Of Delphi, and follows previous singles, "Letter To My Daughter", and "The Dream of Delphi".
The inclusion of "Home" on the new album serves as a gift to its muse, Khan’s daughter Delphi. “It was Delphi’s favourite song,” she reflects; “We just played it over and over and over again every time we got in the car and she'd giggle and squeal. So I did it for her, really – because when she looks back on this album, we can say that was your favourite song that you loved as a little baby”.
After teasing new music and live staging last year as part of the Christine & The Queens curated Meltdown Festival at the Southbank Centre, Bat For Lashes will take to the stage again this summer for her first run of headline concerts for five years with a highly conceptual show that combines movement and elements of performance art alongside her virtuosic vocal performance and live band.
The Dream of Delphi is set for release on 31 May via Mercury KX.
