Bartees Strange returns with new single, "Lie 95"
Bartees Strange has returned with the brand new single, "Lie 95".
The song is paired with a striking video directed by Vincent Martell and Jordan Phelps of VAM STUDIO (Jamila Woods, Chance the Rapper, Esperanza Spalding) starring Strange as both himself and his otherworldly companion. Kacy Hill and Charlene Gibbs contribute additional vocals on the track, which is co-produced by Strange and notcharles with additional production from longtime creative collaborator Graham Richman.
Bartees Strange says of ‘Lie 95’, “This song is about searching for love all across the Northeast corridor (I-95) - my universe. I’m thinking of Love in a broad way: partners, friends and community. This one’s for the highway… and everything I meet through it.”
Bartees Strange recently released a cover of "You Always Hurt The One You Love", taken from Jack Antonoff’s official soundtrack for The New Look – the new series on Apple TV+, joining the likes of Perfume Genius, The 1975, and Florence + the Machine, Beabadoobee, and Lana Del Rey.
