BADBADNOTGOOD's Leland Whitty announces debut solo album with lead single "Awake"
Leland Whitty of BADBADNOTGOOD has announced his debut solo album Anyhow, and has shared new song "Awake" as the lead release from the record.
"Awake" is the first taster of Whitty's debut solo album, and is, in his own words, "the first song I wrote for this project and the one that inspired me to continue on and create a full record."
He adds, "In my mind, it is a sort of overture of the album, forming together small elements from every other track. I wanted to incorporate pieces of cinematic storytelling through both arrangements and the spontaneity of improvisation."
His debut solo album sees Whitty play saxophone, guitar, synthesiser, woodwinds and strings, and features additional instrumentation from past and present BADBADNOTGOOD bandmates Matthew Tavares, Alex Sowinski and Chester Hansen, as well as his older brother Lowell Whitty.
