Baby Rose unveils Slow Burn: A Short Film
Baby Rose has released Slow Burn: A Short Film, a short film directed by David Maxwell.
Set to the music of the recently-released EP of the same title, featuring and produced by BADBADNOTGOOD, the film also features scenes set to Rose’s poetry, as well as an appearance by singer, rapper and songwriter Mereba, who features on the Slow Burn EP.
On the short film, Rose explained: “‘Slow Burn’ the short film expresses my love for cinema and my desire to build my own cinematic imprint. This is me shedding light on the project in a deeper way and showing the world around it, set in a speakeasy, which is what we ruminated on while creating the album. The record itself is reflective of the past versions of myself and so it felt right to narrate from my future self’s perspective while adding a visual layer to each song’s energy.”
Following the release of Slow Burn: A Short Film, Baby Rose will head to Europe for a number of tour dates, including two London shows: a sold-out headline show at Jazz Café and an appearance at the inaugural Jazz Café festival.
Slow Burn: A Short Film is out now via Secretly Canadian.
