Baby Dave returns with new cut "Sounds Good"
Baby Dave, the solo project of SOFT PLAY's Isaac Holman, is back with his first single of the year, "Sounds Good".
"Sounds Good" marks Baby Dave's first new release since his debut album Monkey Brain landed in April 2022, and is accompanied by a video directed by Keane Shaw.
Holman says of the track, "Sometime last year I started receiving voice notes on Insta from a very enthusiastic dog trainer. He was contacting me because he had an idea for a music video involving his dogs but to be honest I was more interested in his voice notes. They were too good not to be used for something, so I made a tune out of them. Then sometime during the writing process I thought it would be cool to use his idea for the video. Needless to say he was well up for it. Sam (‘the dog man’ as I like to call him), was everything I’d hoped for and more. An absolute headcase with a heart of gold, and even though him and all his boys were laughing at me while I trembled with fear, in pain, trying to lip sync with two ferocious dogs hanging off me, I felt very well looked after."
In December SOFT PLAY (fka Slaves) announced their name change and revealed that they're picking "up where we left off".
