Baba Ali announce second album with lead single "Burn Me Out"
Baba Ali have returned with news of their upcoming second album Laugh Like A Bomb, and have released "Burn Me Out" as the lead single.
"Burn Me Out" follows the duo's 2022 single "Black + Blue", and is also the first preview of their upcoming second album.
Laugh Like A Bomb will follow their 2021 debut Memory Device, and was produced and recorded in just three weeks by the duo themselves before being mixed by Ross Orton (Working Men’s Club, Arctic Monkeys, Yard Act).
"I think a lot of the process of writing this album came from pushing ourselves to our limits to get to the essential idea, and discarding anything that felt superfluous or unnecessary," the duo say. "There was a lot of writing, re-writing, deleting, re-recording and then just repeating that process again. A lot of times the best idea would come out of that final push when you’re too exhausted to even think and you rely on feeling."
Baba Ali add of the album title, "The moment I saw the phrase Laugh Like A Bomb, I was immediately struck by how accurate it described what I was feeling at a time when we were touring hard and constantly working to earn just enough to get by."
