Art School Girlfriend shares the new single “Real Life”
Art School Girlfriend – AKA Polly Mackey – has released her new single “Real Life” which is the fourth track to be taken from her upcoming album Soft Landing.
“Real Life” finds Art School Girlfriend continuing the theme of small euphorias set by previous releases “Heaven Hanging Low”, “Close To The Clouds” and “A Place To Lie”. The song is accompanied by a video directed by Zak Watson.
Speaking on the track, Mackey says “Real Life is one of my favourite songs on the album. It’s about moving on from a time when my life felt stuck and lacking meaning… but then being pulled back into a blue-sky reality by a loved one. I wanted the end to feel really euphoric and cinematic with strings and vocal layers, and it’s been an amazing one to play live.”
Soft Landing follows Art School Girlfriend's 2020 debut album, Is It Light Where You Are?.
"Real Life" is out now. Art School Girlfriend's Soft Landing album will arrive via Fiction Records on 4 August, and is available to pre-order now.
