Art School Girlfriend returns with new song “Heaven Hanging Low”
“Heaven Hanging Low”, is the third song to be taken from her forthcoming second album, Soft Landing, and is accompanied by a video directed by Zak Watson.
The song is a bridge between the floating melodies of debut record Is It Light Where You Are? and the small euphorias of Soft Landing.
Speaking of the song, Mackey says: “These lyrics have a lot of religious imagery, but "Heaven Hanging Low" is actually a queer love song all about finding that celestial and sublime euphoria in your closer, more domesticated surroundings.”
The release comes alongside the news that Mackey has announced a UK November tour in support of Soft Landing. The tour features dates in Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Brighton, Cardiff, and London's ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts).
Art School Girlfriend's Soft Landing album will arrive via Fiction Records on 4 August, and is available to pre-order now. For information on the upcoming live dates, visit artschoolgirlfriend.co.uk.
