Arny Margret announces her new EP, dinner alone
The EP announcement coincides with the brand new single, "waiting".
Margret says the song is about “always feeling like you’re waiting for someone, or a moment to say something, but the person doesn’t really see or give you the time. It’s about that feeling of saying to someone “Hello, I’m here” but they don’t notice. It’s another where I feel like it’s more honest, I’m not using any metaphor to mask anything here. That’s a pretty scary thing to do too”.
The accompanying video is a recreation of "Asking For Love" by Jóhann G. Jóhannson, directed by Egill Eðvarðsson, released in 1973. Arny’s ‘waiting’ visual shows how Reykjavík has changed over 50 years.
The EP artwork was photographed by fellow Icelandic artist and musician Prins Póló aka Svavar Pétur Eysteinsson, who tragically passed away last September. He founded alternative rock band Skakkamanage in the mid-2000s, was part of the bands Rúnk and Múldýrið, and enjoyed a successful solo career.
