
Arlo Parks unveils her first ever book of poetry
Following the release of her second album, My Soft Machine, Arlo Parks announces her first ever published book: The Magic Border: Poetry and Fragments from My Soft Machine.
In a video, posted this afternoon, Arlo Parks reveals that she is due to publish her first ever book of poetry.
"Ever since I was tiny, I knew I wanted to be a writer," she said. "I would write strange, elaborate stories about kind monsters and talking lizards and geniuses with blue wings. Words were my way of understanding the world and understanding myself – whether it was journaling or trashing my favourite ebook with notes or writing a few lines of poetry on the back of my hand so I wouldn't forget it. Who could've guessed I would be here holding my book in my hands".
The Magic Border: Poetry and Fragments from My Soft Machine is a collection poems and photographs that make up the world of her second album, following on from her 2021 debut, Collapsed in Sunbeams.
The Magic Border: Poetry and Fragments from My Soft Machine is set for release in September, and is available to pre-order now.
