Arlo Parks showcases new single "Blades"
"Blades" gets its debut as Claro Amfo's Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1.
Describing how "a million happy accidents mashed together to make this one" whilst listening to Missy Elliot, KAYTRANADA and E.S.G with Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence and the Machine), Arlo Parks shares new track "Blades".
The release follows on from singles "Weightless" and "Impurities" which are taken from her upcoming second album My Soft Machine.
Speaking of the song she says: "Paul is just a wizard; he has this childlike spirit that I’ve always really loved and he brought that to “Blades.” I wanted to make something that I can dance to, finally, because I feel like my songs don’t really have that quality in general. So, I took inspiration from bands like ESG, artists like Kaytranada, and a lot of the kind of ’70s Zambian psychedelic rock that I love."
The single is accompanied by the official video, directed by Bedroom at Compulsory Film, who have worked with Arlo Parks previously for her "Too Good" video.
"Blades" is out now. My Soft Machine album will be released 26 May through Transgressive Records, and is available to pre-order now.
