Arctic Monkeys to release seventh album The Car in October
Arctic Monkeys' upcoming seventh album is called The Car, and it'll be released in October.
After debuting new song "I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am" at Zürich Openair festival last night (23 August), details of Arctic Monkey's Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino follow-up have been revealed.
It appeared to start at midday today (24 August) when HMV and Drift Record Shop shared pre-order links to the band's seventh album, which is titled The Car, but then The Big Issue published an interview with Alex Turner, who confirmed the news.

Although Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders revealed in May that their upcoming new album "kind of picks up where the other one left off, musically", Alex Turner has said today, "on this record, sci-fi is off the table. We are back to earth."
He continued, "I think we’ve got closer to a better version of a more dynamic overall sound with this record. The strings on this record come in and out of focus and that was a deliberate move and hopefully everything has its own space. There’s time the band comes to the front and then the strings come to the front."
The article confirms that Arctic Monkeys recorded some of their new album with James Ford at Suffolk venue Butley Priory, which was first teased in summer last year. They also recorded at London's RAK Studios and La Frette in Paris.
