Animal Collective cover Silver Jews' "Trains Across the Sea"
Animal Collective have performed a cover of Silver Jews' "Trains Across the Sea" for SiriusXM, and merged it with their own unreleased song "Genie's Open".
As part of a live session for SiriusXM, Animal Collective played their own "Genie's Open" track (an unreleased track that has become a live favourite), and merged it with a cover of Silver Jews' 1994 Starlite Walker song "Trains Across the Sea".
The cover arrives just days after Animal Collective cancelled their UK and European tour dates in November. In a statement, the band revealed they "simply could not make a budget for this tour that did not lose money even if everything went as well as it could."
Animal Collective's latest album Time Skiffs arrived in February.
