Amazon's Jeff Bezos awards Dolly Parton with $100 million to give to charities of her choice
Dolly Parton has been awarded $100 million by Amazon's Jeff Bezos that she will use to donate to charities and organisations of her choice.
Over the weekend Dolly Parton was announced as the winner of the Bezos Courage and Civility Award, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos awarded her with $100 million to give to charities of her choice.
People reports that Bezos said of Parton before announcing her as the award winner, "She gives with her heart. What she's done for kids, for illiteracy and so many other things - is just incredible."
While accepting the award, Parton said, "Did you say $100 million? When people are in a position to help, they should help."
On Twitter, she added, "I try to put my money where my heart is. I will do my best to do good things with this money."
