AIR to tour their debut album, Moon Safari, for first time since 1998
Iconic French duo AIR have announced that they will tour their widely celebrated debut album, MOON SAFARI, in its entirety, for the first time since its release in 1998.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary earlier this year, the release of Moon Safari catapulted Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel to the uppermost rung of electronic music’s ladder and left an indelible imprint on pop culture at the end of the 20th Century.
The record’s legacy is canonical, but at the time of release, its multi-million success was far from assured. Says Dunckel: “We were a duo doing some electronic thing, dreaming of selling 10,000 copies and being recognised by other musicians as cool. Then suddenly, we met the world.”
Dunckel sums up his own album as “a deep, universal spell, full of love and mystery.” "To me,” Godin concludes, “Moon Safari is perfect.”
Friday 17 November will see the Apple Exclusive release of a Dolby Atmos Mix of Moon Safari enhancing the experience of this seminal spatial cruise. The tour will take place in late February and March 2024 and will be a one night only experience, visiting carefully curated eminent venues across key cities of Europe, including Italy, Vienna, Berlin, France, and the Coliseum in London on 24 March.
Pre-sale for the Moon Safari tour begins on 16 November at 10am, with general sale from 17 November at 10am via airfrenchband.com.
