Abby Roberts returns with "Imposter Syndrome" which was co-written with Halsey
"Imposter Syndrome" is Abby Roberts' first release since her 2022 debut album, Ashes.
Today, rising star Abby Roberts returns with her brand-new track "Imposter Syndrome". The '80s inspired track was produced by Sammy Witte (Harry Styles’ co-writer and producer) and written by Abby with friend and collaborator Halsey.
“When it came to making "Imposter Syndrome", I was out on a writing trip in LA for the very first time and felt completely out of my depth being in rooms with incredibly talented producers, writers, and artists. I couldn’t help but feel like I didn’t deserve to be there. There was always this little voice telling me I was a fraud, I wasn’t good enough and hadn’t achieved enough to be worthy of the life I was experiencing," Roberts says.
"That day I had a session with Ash (Halsey) and confided in them on how I was feeling - and in the strangest coincidence Ash had also written down a bunch of lyric ideas on this feeling on her way to the studio that day, it felt like fate that "Imposter Syndrome" was born. To channel these dark feelings inspiration was taken from 80s gothic music like The Cure but with a bit of a pop twist.”
Abby Roberts will be supporting Gus Dapperton on his EU/UK tour this Autumn, including a show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on 8 November.
