6LACK announces new album with title-track "Since I Have A Lover"
6LACK is back with news of his third album Since I Have A Lover, and has unveiled the title-track as the lead outing.
"Since I Have A Lover" is 6LACK's first release since joining Jacquees and Summer Walker on "Tell Me It's Over" in December 2022, and lands with a Andrew Donoho-directed video.
He says of the new release, ""Since I Have A Lover", the title-track, is the highs of having a healthy love, compressed into song format. It’s a note to self, that I’m no longer who I was or where I was, and that there’s a bigger purpose starting to reveal itself in the things I create. We are simply pushing love, because it’s needed. The verses are short and serve as a moment of acknowledgment for how I feel, and the chorus is less of a lyric and more of a feeling. It’s an exhale, it’s relief, it’s trust, it’s happiness, it’s surreal."
The new single is also the title-track from 6LACK's upcoming third album, which will follow 2018's East Atlanta Love Letter.
6LACK wrote of the album, "This took longer than I promised, but some promises are meant to be broken ... It's been almost five years since my last album and I'd be lying if I said I spent all of those five years working on it. I spent a good portion of the time growing, and healing through the pain that comes with it ... I've arrived at a point where I don't care where the road takes me, as long as it goes somewhere. I'm all in. This is a lover's album and I'm the most proud of it."
"Since I Have A Lover" is out now. 6LACK will release his album of the same name on 24 March via LVRN/Interscope Records, and it's available to pre-order now.
