London-based indie pop duo Young Romance go “Wild” with their new single [Premiere]
Listeners energized by Young Romance’s boisterous indie-pop debut “Pale” in 2014 will no doubt find themselves drawn into the measured frenzy of the London duo’s newest single, “Wild”.
More restrained than its predecessor, the new track gradually builds into a towering blaze of weighty drums and smouldering, grunge-tinged guitar. Claire Heywood’s crystalline vocals blur the edges of sweetness and menace. This is a tune that skulks away into the shadowlands before it ends, but not before quietly torching everything in its path.
Produced by Simon “Barney” Barnicott (Bombay Bicycle Club, Arctic Monkeys), “Wild” (released today) is taken from the self-released four-song Wild EP distributed on 10” vinyl via Banquet Records and digitally via iTunes. "Missing" (Everything But The Girl cover) features as the single's B-side.
You can also catch Young Romance live at Lennon’s in Southampton tomorrow, 26 September.
