Their second release on Yala! Records, “All I Need Is Some Sunshine In My Life” sees the band reimagine a Dixie Nightingales hit.
The band Yak have made quite a name for themselves with their raucous live performances, endearing unpredictability and enviable ability to make a tuneful racket. Combine this brazen approach with a sultry slow jam from Chalice Record’s favourite sons and you have “All I Need Is Some Sunshine In My Life”, a rework of the Dixie Nightingales classic in the style of sludgy Mississippi swamp rock. Think Bass Drum of Death via Twin Peaks.
“All I Need Is Some Sunshine In My Life” is out now via Yala! Records.
