Last weekend, The Line Of Best Fit had the pleasure of attending the first Annual Fucking Awesome Saturday Day. The event essentially involved a garden in New Cross, a barbeque, some bands, and a stage. Oh, and a massive eagle. Excuse the poor quality cameraphone photo, but pictorial evidence seems necessary here.
The afternoon boasted a host of progressively more inebriated acts, including the excellent Crushed Beaks (more of whom on TLOBF soon). Then, at sundown, Woe took to the stage; all capes, face paint, double drummers, flailing arms, and fantastically crunchy guitars, they were as musically and as visually entertaining as any band I have seen in London in quite some time.
And yet no-one seems to know who they are. They already have a split 7″ out with Kurtz, and a new single is on the way. ‘Corpse Lights Rising’ is the b-side to that single, and you can stream it below in all its distorted, nin-minute, AnCo-bettering glory.
