Thrilling new Kent bedroom producer Vasser takes over vocal duties on new song "Retract"
Sam Breathwick, better known as Vasser, has been enjoying a wave of support following his debut single "Whatever You Want", with the track selected as Huw Stephens’ Tip of the Week and amassing 350,000 streams on Spotify alone.
"Retract" is Vasser's latest offering and the first to feature his voice, blending a glitchy synth line with a cold vocal track that perfectly offsets the emotional content of the song itself. Written after the 18 year old’s final exams but just before the breakdown of his relationship, this period of transition comes through beautifully in the track itself, with "Retract" feeling like a muted, but completely genuine, expression of how Vasser felt at the time.
Emerging from the musical deadspace of a sleepy town in Kent, it’s clear that Vasser brings something unique to his electronic production, with "Retract" being the kind of song that could only have been born from an extremely talented internet producer who's determined to stand out from the pack.
