Mysterious Irish producer Unknown returns to the internet’s spotlight with his new track, “BBY.”
This time around, what young talent Chris Hanna lacks in vowels he makes up for in the form of Liverpool-based singer, Gemma Dunleavy. Releasing music under the name UNKNWN, the pair recently unveiled their dark first single, “BBY.”
The upcoming release on Champion Sound Records is swimming with pitch shifting drops of light, tightly wound percussion pops and plenty of distorted murmurs. All of these layers that range from dramatic to delicate are meant to be the backdrop for Dunleavy’s aching, yet soothing words. Her isolated pleas bleed into looping haunts, closing the track and leaving a lasting yearn to hear more. A promising first start for the new and improved UNKNWN.
UNKNWN’s DEVIL/BBY EP is out 30th June via Champion Sound.
