Trust Fund puts more punch into their latest single, the stand alone "Dreams"
Never mind Ellis Jones’ worried, defeated look up there; click on down below and you’ll find Jones is giddily accepting of whatever bullshit’s come his way.
Jones’ latest Trust Fund single, “Dreams” – a stand alone on the heels of his debut LP No One’s Coming For Us earlier this year – finds the band as bouncy as ever, a bit sunnier in disposition, and as relaxed as a lie about in the vegetation adorning its cover.
Trust Fund has unabashedly worn their bedroom lo-fi tendencies proud, yet “Dreams” benefits from a fuller, sharper production courtesy of Hookworms’ MJ behind the board. If the “power” now shining through in Trust Fund’s “power pop” is the ice cream sundae we all crave to ease summer’s heat, then former Joanna Gruesome vocalist Alanna McArdle offering bittersweet harmonies here is undoubtedly the cherry on top.
