Treasureseason return with a glistening new chillwave single "The Rush”
After a break of nearly two years, Treasureseason are today making their hugely welcome return with a glistening new single “The Rush”.
Taken from their forthcoming XY EP, this new cut sees the duo - Dave Powell (production) and Jess Bartlet (vocals) - develop the dreamy, Nordic-inspired sound they have have been honing since they appeared in the dizzy chillwave heights of 2012.
Bartlet’s gorgeous vocal soars out above Powell’s gently tropical-leaning pop production, now embellished with sparkling guitar lines that bring further colour to a wonderfully moreish chorus.
Their lo-fi, bedroom approach again succeeds, as the track aligns the UK pair towards the success and escapist power of the likes of Yumi Zouma and Postiljonen.
Treasureseason have taken their time but “The Rush” was worth the wait.
