Tove Styrke shifts gear with the spaced-out subtlety of "On The Low"
Done with discretion and keeping secrets "On The Low" is a lesson in control in its many forms.
The new track is lifted from her forthcoming third album Sway and she's just shared the record's artwork, which hits streaming services at the beginning of next month. It joins her trifecta of unashamedly maximalist pop smashes "Say Name Name", "Mistakes" and "Changed My Mind".
Fresh off a tour supporting Lorde in North America where she's been sharing new music including "On The Low" and the title track from the soon-to-be released new album, the Swedish singer-songwriter is gonna hit the road again next month with Katy Perry for her European dates.
"On The Low" details the frustration and lack of freedom experienced when a relationship is kept under wraps. Despite it's apparent innonence and softness, this is Styrke at breaking point, pleading to share her love publicly.
An outlier in terms of the music we've heard from Sway thus far, it's a refreshing reminder that Styrke can do anything.
