Swoon and soar with The Flight's latest offering "Sarah"
With support from pop monolith Lana Del Rey and a number of extended plays under their belt, Joe Henson and Alexis Smith, the dream team behind The Flight, collude for another mentally intrusive and perplexing collection of songs. The first of these is the propulsive "Sarah".
"Sarah", with its pounding beats and gargantuan synths immerses the listener in a pool of sonics and timbres that seem to perfectly delineate the intangible genius of The Flight.
The song's harmonious echoes are reminiscent of a brotherhood of Benedictine monks entombed in a cave with a selection of mid '90s sound gear and Dan Snaith. It's weird and wonderfully abrasive, despondent, and at times atonal. Both masterfully produced and lovingly created, "Sarah" demonstrates that sleek production can contain flair, soul, and panache.
Sarah EP is released on 1 July via Apologetic Records.
