After a couple of years with virtually no new releases, hugely influential Swedish label Service seem to be in the midst of a renaissance at the moment. With yesterday’s announcement of a new Jens Lekman album and the return (and indeed reinvention) of Ikons – Service have gone for the full hat trick by revealing a brand new song from Gothenburg based duo The Embassy.
Responsible for shaping the Gothenburg sound for the past decade or so, The Embassy’s presence is beyond influence: their melodies, production and spirit the backbone of a sound that constantly reinvents itself. ‘Roundkick’ may well be their hardest hitting single to date. Expect a new full-length to drop later in 2012.
