The Line of Best Fit
World music aficionados Team Morale are back, and with a strong political message.
The experimental duo from Kent, who last April premiered their wonderful Satori EP with us, have taken on the somewhat ambitious task of crafting a song featuring instruments and samples from all 28 EU member states. And the results are gorgeous.
Here's a statement from the band:
"Like many of you, we have been getting increasingly frustrated by the nonsensical arguments and abhorrent scapegoating by the Leave campaign, as well as the overwhelming sense of cynicism which has engulfed the entire debate. "As a result, last week we set out to produce a track using samples and instruments from all 28 EU member states - such as the Slovakian Fujara, a Latvian choral group and the Polish Suka fiddle. "We hope “Kokku” (Estonian for 'together') reflects the diversity of sounds and cultures across the European Union: a diversity that should be cherished and upheld." In addition, all of Team Morale’s releases on Bandcamp will be pay-what-youwant, with all proceeds donated to Jo Cox’s GoFundMe page.Find out more: Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
