We first saw Microburst at an afternoon show in the Lock Tavern. His set was virtually impossible to keep up with; new ideas appeared and then disappeared in a matter of seconds, held together by little more than a steady thrum of bass.
Microburst hasn’t released a huge amount – in fact, the excellent Killing Fields is the only track on his Bandcamp so far. But while we wait for new bits, this excellent reworking of Talk In Colour‘s ‘Nightshifts’ will more than suffice.
The London producer has taken what began as a fairly uninspiring guitar-and-harp number and totally transformed it something frosty, mercurial, and ever so slightly disturbing. It sounds rather like what one imagines Peter Gabriel would be making if he was just turning up, all dewy eyed and impressionable. Keep your eyes on Microburst.
