Not to be confused with the shamed BNP official Nick Erikson who once described women as “unnatural and vile”, Taragana Pyjarama or Nick Ericksen as he’s more commonly known is – on a whole – completely sold on the whole *female of the species* vibe. Not only is today’s Song Of The Day called ‘Girls’, his MySpace page is adorned with them. Look, there’s a picture of one up there. Just check out that lovely naval. “Unnatural and vile” – what the fuck was Erikson talking about?
So whether or not Ericksen is trying to pose as a girl in his latest guise is anyones guess. It’s not hugely important when the music he creates is as stunning as this. The Danish producer has crafted six-and-a-half minutes of some of the most blissful organic dance music these ears have heard in a long time. For those looking for a comparison; think Delorean minus the shot of endorphins, or perhaps The Tough Alliance less the pseudo-macho element. Apparently recorded live in one take using just a single loop and a smattering of vocal samples, if ‘Girls’ is a sign of things to come from Taragana Pyjarama then he gets my vote. Male, female, trans-gender – who gives a shit. This is a party I can seriously get on board with.
