Every so often a track completely blindsides you and takes you by surprise in the best way possible. I know absolutely nothing about Brothertiger other than the fact he is called John Jago and lives in Athens, Ohio. He announced himself to me as this mysterious entity cloaked by this absolutely luscious gem of a track.
The track in question, ‘Feel’, grabs you from the very off. Synth arrays cascade into pulsing drums and dreamy sporadic guitar strums. Building up to the chilled out and airy vocals, it is definitely reminiscent of Spain’s new golden boys of dance Delorean. Chilled out dance seems to be the ‘in thing’ at the moment, but Brothertiger ushers in a different level of quality – something that seems as genuine as it does substantial. Who knows what Brothertiger will create in future endeavours but, for now, I’m quite content to ignore all those other bands following the trend and get my fill with ‘Feel’.
