Today we’ve got a massive treat for you in the shape of the beautiful and ethereal vocal stylings of Pat Grossi or ‘Active Child‘ who conjures up another side to the ever evolving L.A scene with a darkly haunting sound. Already the subject of blog buzz with his ‘Voice of An Old Friend’ and ‘She was a Vision’ (with great remixes by Pina Chulada and Summer Camp) the latest mp3 ‘Wilderness’ takes you back into doomed basslines and icy electro-pop. Sweeping over the hushed keyboards with quivering vocals it’s wistful, sad and utterly compelling. Like the previously mentioned singles, ‘Wilderness’ is lifted from the Mirror Universe Tapes release Sun Rooms (a $5 blue cassette limited to 100 copies), we’re crossing our fingers the remaining three tracks ‘See Thru Eyes’, ‘When Your Love Is Safe’ and ‘Take Shelter’ will eventually get a digital release.
