In the run up to the release of Soul Proprietor EP, Alessi Laurent-Marke’s first outing with her new label Bella Union, we thought it’d be nice for her to takeover our Song Of The Day feature for a week! Take it away Alessi…..

For my last birthday I received a parcel and sitting inside was the Willkommen Collective compilation. There are so, so many artists on there worthy of a listen… The Kopek track ‘The Way You Are’ jumped out of the stereo and I played it over and over again. Now, whenever I listen to that song it always puts a smile on my face and reminds me of birthday cake and good weather. I’m not very good at sounding out instruments but I believe there is flute, guitar, harp, bass and drums on the song and they surround Marcus Hamblett’s voice perfectly!
