Not to be outdone by his old stable Aesop’s new protege Gent Mason, Vienna based producer-vocalist SOHN has aired ‘Lessons’, the first single taken from his debut LP on 4AD.
Piling on the slick RnB vibes, the very same that endeared him to US heavyweight Miguel earlier this year, SOHN filters his heartstrung falsetto through a labyrinthine web of bleeps, shuddering samples and minimalist beats. It lasts for all of three-minutes, but this one’s hypnotic arpeggios seem to sprawl across a glorious eternity.
‘Lessons’ is due out 23 September via iTunes and 25 November as a 12″. SOHN plays his first London show at Electrowerkz on 13 November. Tickets are available here.
