Sofi de la Torre lets her guard down with heart-wrenching ballad “Voicebreaks”
“Voicebreaks” is 27 year old Canarian artist Sofi de la Torre's act of vulnerability and apology following a string of pop bangers.
Sofia de la Torre revealed her global pop appeal on this Autumn's “Run That Back” and teamed up with Gabriel Black on his track “Jump”, after confirming her independence and pure sass on last year's “$”.
On her new track “Voicebreaks”, de la Torre's distinct breathy vocals narrate a humbling tale of somewhat self-destructive heartbreak. “Told you from day one how toxic my love was,” she warns a persistent mystery romancer. “Waved that red flag til my arms gave in / But you still ran towards it.”
The track acts as an olive branch, with sparse beats and soft pianos as as backdrop to the offering of apology. “Loving is giving up your ego. This song is that,” says de la Torre.
