Slime's new single "My Company" is the some of the most refreshing electronic music in months
Newcastle-born Will Archer aka Slime (formerly of Tough Love and GETME) shares his first single on Domino imprint Weird World.
"My Company" is some of the most refreshing electronic compositions we've heard from a new artist in months: multifaceted, intricate and more than pleasant on the ears.
Nested in a bed of nocturnal synths and gentle trip-hop beats, "My Company" soon teases opening up into a house banger but thankfully never gets there. Instead, we are escorted through a jigsaw puzzle of syncopated rhythms, beautiful melodic glitches, rubbery bass and Archer's warm though distant vocals. Pretty marvellous stuff.
"My Company" is available to download via iTunes. The song is taken from split single "My Company" / "In One Year" 12", released on 11 May (pre-order).
