SIBA gives us an exhilarating sugar rush with "Mango"
SIBA doesn't have much of a discography to his name, but the Denmark-based producer has clearly spent time cultivating a lush, melody-driven sound that pays dividends on "Mango," the first single from his upcoming EP.
A tasty swirl of escalating synths, infectious percussion and soulful vocals, the track is a noteworthy debut that is equal parts head-turning and head nod inducing.
Despite its poppy sound, there's a sense of urgency propelling "Mango" forward that makes it reminiscent of Duke Dumont's stellar "Ocean Drive".
SIBA's vocals are smooth and swaggering, and blend perfectly with the vocal samples that dot the track's intricate production. The instrumental is a constant barrage of new sounds, rarely staying static for more than a couple of bars.
At just over two minutes, the only complaint to lodge against SIBA is for making the track too short, but the brief run time of "Mango" just gives you another opportunity to hit the replay button.
SIBA's Fruits EP is due 18 March.
