This new track by Bé Price aka Sevenoak nearly slipped under the mat during the Christmas hubbub. Boy, are we glad we found it.
Okay, so it's not the most cheery-sounding songs to pick out during the current period of rejuvenation that is the first week of the new year. Weighed down by muddy synths, unpredictable rhythms and a menacing vocal from Mr Price, "Fools Gold" has an almost suffocating, harrowing effect on the listener. But it's a pain-pleasure point; it's the kind of music that you don't mind taking control of you.
Immersive, emotive and completely arresting - we'll certainly be keeping an eye out for more.
