Saltwater Sun's new single "Hot Mess" fuses punk and pop with UV-drenched melodies
After a successful The Great Escape performance in Brighton last month, Saltwater Sun are peeling back the layers to reveal their summer ready sound on new track, "Hot Mess".
We last picked up on Saltwater Sun in March when they dropped the power-pop track "The Wire".
A few months down the line and it seems the Reading five-piece have absorbed a lot of the sun that has been floating above the UK.
"Hot Mess' presents a whimsical tale of not taking yourself too seriously, presented in the powerful, punky vocals of frontwoman Jen Stearne.
Backed by fuzzy riffs that almost sound submerged, Saltwater Sun journey through playful pop-punk similar to that of Wolf Alice.
The anthemic chorus shares frontwoman Stearne's powerful vocals that cut through the electric riffs easier than a knife.
Saltwater Sun embark on a UK tour in September, commencing on 13 at Southampton's Heartbreakers, and closing on 27 September at London's The Islington.
