“Lost Love” is a faultless fusion of subtle folk and electronic grandeur from Run Rivers
Atmospheric and simplistic in equal measure, “Lost Love” is an overwhelming outpouring of emotion.
Those of you interested in mid ‘00s electronic-rock may remember Leed’s outfit Stateless and their frontman Chris James. Fast forward a decade Chris James is operating under new moniker Run Rivers, trading in the ethereality of Radiohead for a more succinct approach in the vein of Bon Iver and Nick Drake.
His latest offering “Lost Love” is a slow building number that melds intricate guitar work with layered harmonisation, giving the whole track a feeling of almost whimsical nostalgia. String arrangments from Matthew Kelly alongside production from Suneil Pusari gives the whole affair an air of professionalism and calm whilst ensuring everything is still exciting and relevant.
