Radio Stanley team up with rising Dutch talent Youandi for stripped-back banger "Terrible Liar"
Pairing highly embellished beats with effortlessly sultry lyricism, Radio Stanley are the production duo who are on a mission to create beautiful creations that pack a punch.
Based in Amsterdam, the duo first caught people’s attention in their homeland with the release of their debut EP which quickly racked up an impressive amount of plays and laid the foundations for what the pair are all about.
With their newest offering, they up the anti and bring together a rich variety of influences into something that could otherwise be a straightforward deep R&B track. From pop peculiarities to classical embellishments, “Terrible Liar” deliciously twists around winding synths whilst always being underpinned by a driving beat.
One of the duo’s top talents is being able to find the perfect match for their expressive creations and this track is no different. Youandi’s sultry vocals add a smooth mystique to the deep R&B track that becomes particularly potent at the sinister chorus.
Describing how they always aim to tread new ground with every song they create, the pair say “Trying new things is not about thinking of the result. Listen to the outro, the song sounds like a modern art piece. This first song was made at our studio that was near a train railway so there were always trains passing by fucking up our recordings. It’s all these imperfections that create all the beautiful things, truly. This is a reminder that we are a new generation.”
