Rachel Sermanni's announces new LP Tied To The Moon and shares lead single "Tractor" [Premiere]
Scottish troubadour Rachel Sermanni has announced the release of her second studio LP Tied To The Moon, and it unveiling its lead cut "Tractor" now on Best Fit.
The album follows 2012's debut full-length Under Mountains, last year's live album, and a handful of well-received EPs.
Tied To The Moon was born in the backwaters of Nova Scotia, in an apartment owned by Old Man Luedecke (double Juno Award winner), where Sermanni was able to be isolated from technology and the rest of the planet. While focused on a routine of running and exploring the nearby forests, the tracks formed as if from nowhere - with them, the lead single "Tractor".
The new track is a dark, confident chunk of noise. Feral, verging on atonal guitar strands worm their way inbetween the swamp-folk strums, creating a bolshy sense of menace throughout. Far from being 'wispy' or 'wistful', Sermanni's new record looks to be a dense, knotted work of complex riffs and genre explorations.
Tied To The Moon is out on 10 July via Middle Of Nowhere Recordings.
