Psychedelic Porn Crumpets unleash barrage of raucousness with “Keen For Kick Ons?”
Unpredictable Australian quartet Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have dropped an anthem for the chaotic youth with the formidable number “Keen For Kick Ons?”
Combining overblown riffs with sprawling guitar solos, the track is a fearless and relentless rock anthem - a twisted juggernaut which, once unshackled, releases its apocalyptic venom.
Emerging from the same Australian music scene as sonic giants Tame Impala and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, the band met via a mutual drug dealer and escaped into a world of hallucinogenic, riotous psych-rock.
The track details “those fruitful days working in a pub”, as frontman Jack McEwan explains: “I got fired for getting trollied at an open mic night trying to sing Queen. It seemed like a good premise for a track so I weaved in this narrative of a purple haired French girl who spoke in blotted English but wanted to head out after the bar closed,” McEwan says. “It's a mix of tour life and reminiscing about my days at Indi Bar - good times.”
