Praa encourages us all to value the magic of real human connection on bewitching new track "Y"
On her latest effort, the French artist illustrates how important it is for us not to lose ourselves in technology at the expense of losing each other.
Having grown up in Southern-French town of Valence, Praa's endless enthusiasm for music has meant she has already been in everything from pysch-rock bands to Folk projects, so it is only natural that her latest incarnation rallies together her eclectic background in its strongest form yet.
As Praa, she has found her neo-soul highground that flourishes with light euphoria whilst still being able to deliver an important message, and her latest offering puts her skills on full display.
On "Y", Praa utilises a minimalist, percussive soundscape, skilfully creating a truly immersive texture of sound that sucks you into its core. Her vocals float with effortless ease whilst the guitars and synths sensually intwine with one another. It's entrancing, but embodies a slightly haunting nature as the soft R&B textures illicit a warning.
"I needed to write something about this uneasiness of our generation," Says Praa on the track's origins. "We tend to lose true relationships over virtual ones. Here but nor here, hearing people not listening, seeing the world but not looking at it. I feel like we’re losing each other and it’s terrifying me."
"Y" is only her third single as Praa, and once again shows the strength and potential of this rising French artist.
