Postiljonen return after a year away with the post-heartbreak beauty of "Crazy"
Almost twelve months after their Reverie album, Stockholm's pop masters Postiljonen are back with a brand new single.
On "Crazy", Postiljonen continue to display the maturity they explored on their last record but there's a longing for the chaos of the past that's difficult to shake.
You can hear it in Mia Bøe's voice; there's an urgency and a freedom that's not really been present in Postiljonen's music before. Bøe is displaying a disarming honesty not completely explored before, and aided by her bandmates Joel Nostrum Holm and Daniel Sjörs it signals a whole new world for the band.
As synths surge, the band's trademark saxophone wails and the percussion thumps like an '80s movie soundtrack, Norwegian Bøe sings "Baby, we were crazy once / No one told us / We might be in love but it all runs out / Be in love but it all runs out". There's undeniable nostalgia, but underneath the surface Postiljonen realise that the past needs to be left behind to progress.
