Philco Fiction are amongst our favourite new bands. The Scandinavian trio’s fantastic single ‘Help’ was one of last year’s best – a startlingly well constructed track that straddles the line between Security-era Peter Gabriel oddity and chart-destined disco-pop.
Now, in a new remix from Hampshire producer Enjoyed, the track is given a housy rebirth. Distant “help”s are offset against tightly wound synth stabs, before the whole thing opens out into a panoramic spread of campfire congas and beachfront arpeggios, fulfilling the dancefloor potential the track always possessed.
Philco Fiction’s debut album, Take It Personal, is out 3 September on Something In Construction. In the meantime, stream the Enjoyed remix of ‘Help’ below.
