Anagram fan patten has today released the second part of a two-part remix project, drawing on tracks from his excellent debut LP GLAQJO XAACSSO.
QALOGJ OACSSXA, which features reworks from South London producer Halls and Finnish artist Ukkonen inter alia, is based on the same fantastic idea as its predecessor – give the remixers tiny snippets of tracks, rather than the full stems, and let them build something entirely their own. Like erecting an completely new structure on an existing foundation.
Dro Carey‘s version of ‘Words Collided’ is the standout here; a gulping, stuttering track that sounds a bit Detroit, a bit Berlin, and constantly threatens (somewhat bizarrely) to burst into all-out West Coast bounce. A veritable United Nations of a remix.
QALOGJ OACSSXA is out now on No Pain In Pop. Stream ‘Words Collided’ below.
