Our Girl deliver another snippet of excellence with unconventional love song "I Really Like It"
Having released the furiously brilliant single "Our Girl" earlier this year, the Brighton-based trio are back with "I Really Like It", another snippet from their forthcoming debut album.
Whereas "Our Girl" soared with a burning grunge-pop sensibility and pounded on in reckless abandon, "I Really Like It" reveals a softer side to the trio's sound.
It sees lead singer Soph Nathan open up and gush about her lover, simply stating "I love you all the damn time. Yet rather than being cheesy or corny as you might think, the track is earnestly honest and perfectly encaptures the beautiful gloss of infatuation and adoration, whipped up by clanging guitars and Nathan's sublime vocal delivery.
"It’s one of our newest songs. I was initially quite nervous to share it because it feels quite different to the others," Explains Nathan, describing the making of the track, adding "I’d never written about love in this way before. It has the inevitable moments of craziness and longing that can come with falling in love, but mainly it’s just a really happy song."
