Liss-affiliated trio Off Bloom flip desperation into an electronic pop gem with "Love To Hate It"
Part of the same Copenhagen crew as Liss, Vasco and Vera, new trio Off Bloom channel feelings of lust and rejection on "Love To Hate It", the lead single and title track off their debut EP.
An expression of how being knocked back by someone you're infatuated with can actually only make those desires stronger, "Love To Hate It" prickles with pent-up passion, from lead vocalist Mette's sweetly jaded vocal hooks to the high-gloss frenetic production from her co-conspirators Alex and Mads. The accompanying video was shot by Nadia Marquard Otzen (Rosie Lowe, Years & Years, The 1975) who took the band to the outskirts of their hometown to eat, sleep and live together for a few days, lending the clip a spontaneity which tesselates neatly with their glitter cannon synths and fizzing beats. The EP, released last Friday on their own label Sport Records, features production and mix credits from some of UK pop's heaviest hitters, including Two Inch Punch and AlunaGeorge's George Reid.
