Manchester-based producer Oceaán continues to build our excitement with a new track that feels like tea on a winter day: a soothing warmth that spreads and lingers for a bit after you’ve finished the cup.
“Turned Away” is a sizzling cut chock full of clicking and whirring beats. It’s more upbeat than where he left off (the expansive, moody “To Lose“) with uplifting rhythms, fleeting horns and his signature vocals floating through a beautiful, stuttering background.
The track’s from his debut self titled EP, released on 31 March via Chess Club Records, and illustrates exactly why we named the 20-year old Brussels-born Oliver Cean one of our rising talents for this year. Listen below.
